…and tomorrow is a holiday [in honor of Veteran’s Day today].  In the morning I’m meeting a girlfriend for a walk but I’m not sure what Ryan and I will do in the afternoon.  Peanut Butter Cereal Brownies sound enticing 😉  Hip, hip, hooray for 3-day weekends!

XOXO,

Allison

Question:  Do you have a 3-day weekend?

Question:  Are you a Bond fan?  I am all about chicky flicky movies but I also enjoy a good action movie [with cute actors] now and then!

WIAW // AL[upus]R Walk

The past few days I’ve enjoyed some awesome eats and tasty treats…  Nothing too spooky, although I’ve pinned a few fun Halloween recipes that I’d like to try!

Spooky Snacks and Healthy Halloween Treats

Onto a few of my favorite recent eats [also add: pumpkin pie pancakes and this sweet bedtime treat]…  Lots of applesauce, pears, and pancakes!

parmesan lentil stuffed portabella cap

lazy apple crisp

applesauce + avocado spinach wraps + blueberry bran muffin

uncooked apple crisp

pretty red pear

snack plate

cinnamon apple coconut waffles

chilled chocolate berry cereal

fudgy Chobani

chocolate cherry coconut waffles

And now, Charlie’s eats

Let me clarify, that is not all for Charlie [haha] 😛  He went bonkers last night when I took the bone out of the bag and refused to eat his dinner.  I should have known that running around hiding bones is much more fun than eating dinner [duh]!

Saturday morning Ryan and I will be participating in the ALR Walk with Us to Cure Lupus with one of my favorite DC radio stations.  I was diagnosed with lupus 3 years ago this fall and despite some flare-ups, I’m still living and loving life!

A little information about the Alliance for Lupus Research as seen on the Hot 99.5 website

Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) The mission of the Alliance for Lupus Research  (ALR) is to find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure systemic  lupus erythematosus (SLE, or lupus), a debilitating autoimmune disease, by  supporting medical research. 100% of all donations received go directly to  support lupus research programs because the ALR Board of Directors funds all ALR  administrative and fundraising costs. Founded in 1999 and chaired by Robert Wood  Johnson IV, a member of the Johnson & Johnson family, after his daughter was  diagnosed with lupus, the ALR has become the largest private funder of lupus  research in the world. By the end of 2012 the ALR will have committed over $80  million to innovative and aggressive lupus research.

Walk with Us to Cure  Lupus is the ALR’s signature national grassroots fundraising program. Designed  to increase awareness of lupus and raise crucial funds for lupus research  programs, to date, ALR’s Walk with Us to Cure Lupus has raised over $22 million.  Thousands of ALR supporters and volunteers will join our quest for a cure and  walk in nearly 20-cities across the country this year. Please visit  lupusresearch.org for additional information.

If you’re interested in participating we’d love for you to join us Saturday morning!  Registration opens at 9AM and the walk begins at 10AM, starting and ending at Freedom Plaza in Washington D.C.

XOXO,

Allison

Question:  What’s the tastiest treat you’ve recently eaten?

Question:  Do you support any causes?  This month is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and I am loving all the pink e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.!  My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in elementary school and I will never forget the day I came home and she was sitting at our kitchen table with some family friends.  The look of fear and worry on her face was heartbreaking but I’m happy to report that she has been cancer free for many years.  I know that she was very lucky that her doctors caught it in the early stages and my heart goes out to all of those who have battled the disease, know someone who is fighting, or know someone who has fought.

C Land

Today almost everything I ate, drank, listened to, and did, started with the letter C!  And for those words that were being difficult and didn’t start with C…  C adjective + other letter word = another C thing [haha]!  FYI: No, I didn’t make my students brainstorm C words [although I’m sure their responses would have been pretty creative], I used the trusty companion known as Google!

Source

I clearly had too much time on my hands today and stretched this C idea a bit far but an idea popped into my mind and I just went with it!  I blame it on having a half-day of school and classes were only 15-25 minutes, just enough time for my students settle down and write their name and date on an assignment…

Creamy coffee

Chilly morning

Comfy oversized sweater

Casual fleece-lined leggings & Cozy boots [with the fur]

Crisp apple, Chobani, & [slightly] Charred waffles

Comprehensive organizing & planning

Cherry + lime Trident Layers gum

Coniferous veggies and Carrots, vitamin C, Cheese stick, ham wrap-ups with Crisp romaine lettuce, & Kashi Chewy bar

Cereal bowl with banana Chips and dark Chocolate chips

Chilly phone background

I’m planning to squeeze in a Crucial workout before Ryan and I go return a piece of furniture we bought and decided not to use.  I’m not sure what I’ll make for dinner- maybe something with Chicken sausage and parm Cheese?- followed by a bowl of ice Cream and Cuddling on the sofa with Charlie?!  Maybe Ryan will make us a Crackling fire…  Phew, that’s enough C‘s for one day.

C y’all later!  Okay, I’m done now, really…  C!

P.S.  Christina from Hungry Meets Healthy is hosting a 2012 Valentine’s Day Blogger Swap!  If you want to participate don’t be shy and send her an email by Monday, January 23rd with your contact info, some of your fave eats and hobbies, and a link to your blog [if you have one]!

Question:  What C thing did you do or eat today?

Question:  Ever think of a crazy idea and just go with it?
