Thanksgiving 2011

Source

Since high school I’ve been helping my momma cook Thanksgiving dinner…  Of course, I’ve taken on more duties as I’ve gotten older and now I cook almost half of the dishes, including the turkey!

Thanksgiving Menu

Great Harvest Cranberry-Orange Bread

Green Beans with Turkey Bacon and Balsamic Shallots

green beans, turkey bacon, chicken broth, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper

Baked Sweet Potatoes

Garlic Mashed Potatoes (momma… she’s famous for these!)

Sweet Potato and Apple Souffle (momma)

Cranberry-Orange Compote

fresh cranberries, cranberry juice, fresh squeezed orange juice, orange zest, pumpkin pie spice, agave syrup

Pear-Sausage Stuffing

Great Harvest stuffing bread, sun-dried tomato chicken sausages, pears, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onion, chicken broth, salt, pepper

Apple Cider Braised Turkey

apple cider, apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard, vegetable broth, salt pepper Source

TJ’s Pumpkin Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream

Yellow Birthday Cake with Chocolate Frosting* (momma)

*It’s also my brother’s 18th birthday…  Happy birthday younger brother!*

I use recipes as a guide but always make my own additions and swaps…  Thankfully, I’ve never ended up with a “dud-dish” and hopefully that holds true this holiday dinner, too!

Question:  How do you contribute to Thanksgiving dinner?

Question:  What’s your favorite dish?
